¿Qué se entiende por el concepto de Turismo de Masas?

Corría el 2 de septiembre de 1945, finaliza Segunda Guerra Mundial, los países Aliados derrotan a las Potencias del Eje -Bloque Berlín-Roma-Tokio, preludio Eje Roma-Berlín-, comienza la posguerra, se implantan el pacto keynesiano -desarrollo económico equilibrado socialmente-, se instala el Estado del bienestar -Wohlfahrtsstaat …una seguridad social para todos los ciudadanos… se oponía al Estado de Guerra (Warfare State, Alemania Nazi)-, discurren las décadas de 1950 y 70, emerge Edad de oro del capitalismo o años dorados, surge la clase media, la población aumenta su poder adquisitivo, los ingresos discrecional se derivan parte a viajar, se aplica al tiempo de ocio, entonces, las divisas se desplazan, se democratiza la actividad turística, irrumpe el boom turístico internacional, los datos muestran un incremento de nueve veces -de 25 a 222 millones, OMT- la llegada del turismo internacional, es cuando aparece .el término de turismo de masas. Bertram M. Gordon, profesor de Mills College, Oakland, California, aborda este concepto en su artículo el Turismo de Masas: un concepto problemático en la Historia del siglo XX.
